Registration Information

Next In-Person SMLA Registration

There are no more in-person registration sessions planned for the 2008 season.

You can still register by mail or by form drop-off.

For details, please see the 'SMLA Registration Process' section below.

Please see the table listed below for the current registration status. A waiting list has been started for some of the divisions.

2008 Registration Fees

The division in which your child will play is determined by the year in which he/she was born. Please refer to the following chart for divisions and 2008 registration fees.

  • Registration price includes a pair of SMLA shorts and team pictures.
  • Families registering 2 or more players will pay the full registration fee for the oldest player. The registration fee for each of the younger players will be discounted by 25%.
  • Cheques should be made payable to 'SMLA'.

SMLA Registration Process

To register your child for the 2008 season, you will need to submit a completed registration form. The form is available for download here. Forms are also available at our in-person registration sessions.

SMLA uses both in-person and mail-in/drop-off registrations, as follows:

In-Person Registration

Please see information above for the time and location of the next in-person registration.

When registering in-person, please ensure you bring the following:

  • One registration fee cheque per player. (eg, if registering 2 players, provide 2 separate cheques). Please refer to the chart above for current registration fees.
  • A $50 ’Volunteer’ cheque, post-dated to June 1, 2008 (1 per FAMILY). Please see information below regarding SMLA’s volunteer program.
  • Each player’s BC medical card - you will need to fill out the BC medical number on the registration form (new & returning players).
  • For new players only:
    • you will need to provide a photocopy of each registering player’s birth certificate. The BCLA requires each association to maintain ’proof of age’ records.
    • you will need to show ’proof of residency’. A recent utility bill (within 3 months) showing both your current address and the family name is sufficient.

Mail-in or Drop-off Registration

Registrations must be received by February 15, 2008.

  • Download and print the REGISTRATION FORM.
  • Fill-out the registration form (please PRINT neatly).
    • Important: the BC medial number MUST be filled in for all players (new & returning)
    • Important: please read the WAIVER & INSURANCE section before signing
  • Provide one registration fee cheque per player. (eg, if registering 2 players, provide 2 separate cheques). Please refer to the chart above for current registration fees.
  • Provide a $50 ’Volunteer’ cheque, post-dated to June 1, 2008 (1 per FAMILY). Please see information below regarding SMLA’s volunteer program.

SMLA Volunteer Program

Semiahmoo Lacrosse runs on volunteers. A $50 volunteer fee will apply per family for those who do not volunteer. A post dated cheque will be collected at registration.

SMLA Refund Policy

All refunds are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.

  • Cancellations prior to March 1st, will receive a full refund, less the $25.00 administration fee.
  • Cancellations between March 2nd – April 15th, will receive a 50% refund, less the $25 administration fee.
  • Cancellations after April 15th, will not be given a refund.

The KidSport™ Fund

The KidSport™ Fund is a program of Sport BC designed to "remove the financial obstacles that prevent underprivileged children from playing sport in British Columbia". Each child aged 6 - 18 who applies is eligible for up to $200 for one season of sport. The grant is provided directly to the club or sport organization.
